Slovenia weekend

In the end of August it was time for the annual and long-awaited hike arranged by wife's work, well she is rather engaged in it.
It is always a happy bunch who goes on these trips and the nice thing is that the better halves ;) gets the chance to come along. It's really something I look forward to every year.
This time, we were going to Slovenia to hike in the surroundings of lake Bohinj and for those that wanted/could also climb their highest mountain - Triglav 2864m
We took it easy the first day as we had an early start that morning, 4 am #yawn At the arrival in Klagenfurt /Austria we rented a bus to take us to lake Bled, which is known for its church located on an island. We walked around there for 4-5 hours before continuing with the bus to Stara Fuzina where we would staying during the entire trip.
The following morning, second day, the majority of the group started their two-day hike up to Triglav. As the hike is rather long and steep it needed an overnight stay at the top cabin, Dom Planika. Few of us stayed in the valley exploring the lake Bohinj and its beautiful surroundings.

Croatia

Starting in late July and 3 weeks ahead, it was time for a long-awaited holiday at the summer house in Croatia.
Lazy days mixed with adventure and refurbishment is how our holidays usually looks like - perfect mix if you ask me.
The camera came out few times as well so some pictures were taken and here comes the results :)

Funäsfjällen

Next stop after leaving Röros (last blog post) was Funäsdalen where we spend 4 nights to have enough time to explore the area. Did some hiking, mountain biking, fishing, trail running and so on.
We were so lucky with the weather as it only rained the last day and then also just little.
Something that I really love is fishing, and it actually went rather good. We even managed to grilled a trout in foil at the beach - as fresh as it gets. My wife finally got to taste it like that - it has apparently never happened before :))
Unfortunately I didn't carry the camera with me much. Although something that we have pics of is a bit of a secret - a lovely waterfalls (Anderssjöåfallet) that is truly worth visiting.

Fulufjället NP and Röros, Norway

Few weeks back we were off on mini pre-vacation holiday :) Which actually starts today and early tomorrow morning we are flying down to our summer house in Croatia
Anyway, back to the mini holiday -
The weekend started with a long drive up to Mörkret, a small village near Fulufjället National Park. We were staying there for one night as to see Sweden's highest waterfall (Njupeskär 125m fall)
which was just a rather easy few km walk even though we arrived rather late.
Following morning we continued our journey towards Funäsfjällen where we would be staying for three  nights but why take the shortest way? We took a detour through Norway and stopped in a copper mining town Röros what stopped mining 1977 but made it on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Will be taking few lenses with me to Croatia so you have some more pics to look forward to later on :))

Ulvön, high coast

The second day during our visit at Höga Kusten we visited island Ulvön. The island is situated in Örnsköldsvik archipelago, in the heart of the Höga Kusten (High Coast). Actually Ulvön is two islands - North and South Ulvön. Ulvö-harbour is located on the north island, well protected in Ulvösundet.

Ulvön is perhaps best known for surströmming (fermented herring), produced on the island for over a hundred years.
During winter months only about 40 people live on Ulvön, but during the summers it comes to life, with many tourists and summer house owners.
